WHAT WAS JESUS DOING IN HELL FOR THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS?
1Peter 3:19..By which also he(Jesus Christ) went and preached unto the spirits in prison; (the word prison means Hell, Hades, Pit, the bottomless Pit or the heart of the Earth.) 1Peter 4:6. For for this cause was the Gospel preached also to them that are dead; that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God and the spirit..Matthew 12:40. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly; so shall the "SON OF MAN BE THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH."
Let's bring an incident up that happened a few thousand of years ago. This story is told in the book of Numbers and we need to read very carefully and find out just what this story is telling us about a halty and rebellious spirit! Proverbs 16:18..Pride goeth up before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Number 16:30,33. If you have time read and study these verses they are very important. 30)But if the Lord(this is Moses talking to the people) make a new thing, and the Earth open her mouth, and swallow them up,(them: korah, dathan, Abiram and all the followers, including their families.) With all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick INTO THE PIT then you shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord. The word pit here does not mean a hole in the ground. 33)They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit and the Earth closed upon them; and they perished from among the congregation. Let me explain numbers 16:30,33..All of these that fell into the Earth, when God opened it up, fell in alive. But when the earth closed, it killed them and their soul went to the pit.(which is Hell, Hades, Prison, The bottomless pit or The heart of the Earth. It's easy to say who Jesus preached to when he went to Prison or Hell. Not only did he preach to all of these souls that were in the day of Noah, but I believe that he also got to preach to Dathan, Korah and Abiram. When Jesus Christ was in the heart of the Earth, according to Matthew 12:40 for three days and three nights, "Jesus was standing right in the center of Hell or the heart of the Earth preaching the gospel." Glory hallelujah!! Jesus proclaimed that all of the world would hear the gospel, then the end would come. Jesus fulfilled his promise!!
Isaiah 14:15..Yet thou shall be brought "DOWN TO HELL", TO THE SIDES OF THE PIT. This is when God was telling Satan where he in his angels would spend a thousand years in the bottomless pit. Bottomless pit means; no way out, until someone loosens or remove the locks off of the door.
